STEVE BENDER:  I want to bring in now Fox Business contributor Scott Martin. He’s a friend of the show, and he’s actually out in the field chasing these storms. Scott, I love talking with you, man. You bring the energy, but I think Mother Nature may be outdoing you tonight. Talk to us about what you’ve seen so far on the chase.

SCOTT MARTIN:  Yeah, she definitely did. Today, Steve, I was thinking about you the whole time, my friend. I’ll tell you, today was cool in Ohio, at least. I was around I-70 and south, working towards I-71 too, in the Clark County and Greene County area. As you point out, Steve, today in Ohio, we saw some really neat storm structures, some really neat clouds, cool-looking scuds, and amazing rain shields. As you can see, maybe a little bit of penny-sized, pea-sized hail, but not the energy, Steve, that you’re talking about in upstate New York and certainly eastern Iowa. I was out there just running and gunning, chasing these rain shields and driving right along them because I didn’t feel a ton of danger. That sounds crazy because that stuff looked a little nuts, but there wasn’t that crazy wind sheer going on. These storms were leaning forward, so you were getting out in front of them and seeing this amazing cloud structure but not really getting anything more than heavy rain, no hailstones bigger than a penny size, not a lot of cloud-to-ground lightning, and not a lot of strong winds.

STEVE BENDER:  Yeah, I mean, Scott, you got some amazing visuals though, in South Charleston here, showing that earlier in the day. You said a scud, right? It looks like that funnel that’s kind of tailing the storm, and you’re waiting, thinking, “Is that going to touch down? Is this going to be a tornado?” and it doesn’t come to fruition because of the low-level rotation. Walk us through, is this a one-and-done, or are you going to stick around because we know we’ve got more days of severe weather coming?

SCOTT MARTIN:  I’ll always be here for you. You know that, Steve. My folks live here, so I have no choice but to stay right now. I told them I’d be here for a good part of July, so bring ’em on. I’d love to see something even a little bit more adventurous, but nothing too crazy like we’re seeing in some other states. As we get later in the week, probably tomorrow too in Ohio, it looks like we’ve got a moderate risk or a marginal risk. If there’s anything going on, I’ll definitely go out there, take as many pictures as I can, and get into harm’s way somewhat for you guys as well hanging out with us tonight. See you..

STEVE BENDER:  Amazing, Scott. We love having you on the show, even better when you’re chasing these storms. Can you walk us through, is this your first time chasing this year, and what was it like?

SCOTT MARTIN:  Yes, I’ve been out in Illinois a couple of times. I live in Chicago most of the year. We’ve had some activity, especially in May, a very active month in Chicago. This is my first time in Ohio so far. The thing I love about Ohio versus Illinois is that there are massive amounts of places to chase. You drive 15 miles outside of Springfield, Ohio, where I was born and raised, and you can get to these beautiful cornfields where you can see 30, 40, 70 miles away and really take some picturesque shots. It feels like the clouds are there, dancing and showing off for you if you’re out there taking pictures.

STEVE BENDER:  Scott, I remember early in the severe season, Ohio was leading the country in tornadoes. It was wild to see back in March, I believe. Like you said, it’s a good opportunity to chase if you’re in Ohio. But we’ve got to jump back to where you live now, Chicago in the Midwest. Man, it is volatile. We have two confirmed tornadoes, so we’re going to jump out there. Fox Business contributor Scott Martin, thank you so much for
