The U.S. is beginning to roll out the first doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine this week, just days after the FDA approved it, and alternative vaccines developed by Moderna and others may be close behind. Government officials estimate that 100 million Americans, or about one-third of the U.S. population, could be vaccinated by the early months of 2021. Other countries have already begun to distribute vaccines as well, and this is incredibly positive news coming just one year after the new coronavirus was first identified. Still, investors should continue to maintain realistic expectations and remain disciplined in the coming months, for a few reasons.
